Derby Shardlow Bailey Bridge 27
Cavendish Bridge over the Trent was swept away by floods in 1947 this Bailey Bridge was built by the Army in April 1947.

By Jim Gill: I remember the bailey bridge very well My father was a scrap iron man and one day he drove a big horse and dray over it I followed with a donkey and cart the donkey layed down on the c bridge this caused total chaos until some men came along and picked it up and the local policeman was not amused I was about 7 at the time carried it over
